A new committee has been formed to investigate the errors found in the budget presented by the Madhesh Province government. After the sixth meeting of the Provincial Assembly on Saturday was repeatedly obstructed by opposition parties and could not proceed, the previous committee led by the Speaker was dissolved, and a new committee has been formed under the coordination of the Deputy Speaker.

The new committee will have 14 members, including 7 from the opposition parties and 6 from the ruling party members of the Provincial Assembly. Deputy Speaker Babita Raut Ishwar will chair the committee.

Opposition parties, who had opposed the inclusion of ruling party member Saroj Kumar Yadav in the previous committee, have now participated in the new committee. The committee is expected to investigate the errors and submit a report, after which discussions on the budget will proceed, according to Kanish Patel, Chief Coordinator of the Unified Socialist Party.

According to the Provincial Assembly Secretariat, the assembly will now meet only on the coming Monday. The committee is preparing to advance its work before that.

The new committee members are: Mo. Sameer, Sharda Devi Thapa, Chandan Kumar Singh, Shambhu Kumar Sah, Jangilal Rai, Nagendra Sah, Ramita Pradhan, Ram Ashish Yadav, Kanish Patel, Jawaharlal Kushwaha, Vimala Ansari Tarannam, Kanchan Bichha, Urmila Devi Singh.

It is hoped that the new committee will produce an impartial and fact-based report, which is expected to facilitate smoother economic dynamics in the province.
