Rs. 11.436 Million Revenue Collected from Traffic Enforcement in Siraha

The District Traffic Police Office, Siraha, has collected Rs. 11.436 million in revenue during the fiscal year 2082/83 through action taken against vehicles violating traffic rules.

According to Office Chief Police Inspector Nabin Marasini, action was taken against 13,416 vehicles for violating traffic regulations during the period. In the previous fiscal year 2081/82, action had been taken against 32,157 vehicles, resulting in revenue collection of Rs. 25,119,502.

Similarly, during the fiscal year 2082/83, a total of 1,020 road accidents occurred in Siraha. A total of 81 people, including 62 men, seven women, and 12 children, lost their lives in those accidents, while 1,676 people were injured.

Previously, in the fiscal year 2081/82, 967 road accidents had occurred, claiming the lives of 89 people, including 64 men, 14 women, and 11 children. During that period, 1,554 people had been injured.

According to Police Inspector Marasini, although the number of accidents has increased slightly due to road conditions, driver negligence, and other human factors, the number of deaths caused by accidents has decreased compared to the previous year. He said that traffic awareness programs, regular vehicle inspections, and strict enforcement of traffic rules have had a positive impact in controlling the risk of accidents.
