The Madhesh Province Government has decided to prioritize the construction of necessary tourism-related infrastructure and the preservation and upgrading of religious and historical heritage with the objective of extending the stay of tourists visiting Janakpurdham.
Speaking at the oath-taking and handover ceremony of the newly elected office-bearers of the Shriram Youth Committee in Janakpurdham, Madhesh Province Chief Minister Krishna Prasad Yadav said that Janakpurdham has immense potential from religious, cultural and tourism perspectives. He informed that the provincial government would focus on constructing the necessary infrastructure to develop Janakpurdham into a well-managed and model tourist city while preserving the religious and archaeological heritage located here.
Chief Minister Yadav said that the provincial government’s support and commitment would continue to make Janakpurdham a clean, green and tourist-friendly city. According to him, the necessary budget has been arranged to complete the under-construction Ram Janaki International Stadium, while the upgrading work of the Ram Janaki Marriage Pavilion has also been taken forward with the objective of attracting tourists.
Likewise, he informed that the process for the construction of the Ramayana Spiritual Park in Janakpurdham has already been initiated. Chief Minister Yadav also said that the provincial government has a plan to make the Mahaganga Aarti, which has recently become a center of attraction for tourists, more systematic and grand.
Mentioning that the appearance of Janakpurdham has improved compared to the past, he expressed the commitment that the provincial government would cooperate with local levels and concerned agencies to make the city even cleaner, greener and more organized in the coming days.
At the program, Madhesh Province Assembly member Dipendra Thakur said that local clubs and social organizations have an important role in the preservation of the historical, religious and archaeological heritage of Janakpurdham. He emphasized that all sides should unite by rising above political affiliations for the development of Janakpurdham.
Thakur pointed out the need for the provincial government to allocate a special budget for the protection and promotion of the 52 Kattha 72 Dhur area located in Janakpurdham. He said that cooperation among all sides is necessary for the preservation of religious, cultural and historical heritage.
The program was held under the chairmanship of newly elected Shriram Youth Committee President Vijay Kumar Sah. Madhesh Province Assembly member and former minister of the provincial government Birendra Singh, Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City Mayor Manoj Kumar Sah, among others, were present at the program. The newly elected office-bearers of the committee were congratulated and wished success during the program.
