The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has arrested Tax Officer Yuvraj Pal of the Inland Revenue Office, Lahan, on charges of accepting a bribe from a service recipient.

According to CIAA Information Officer Prakash Pokharel, an investigation team deployed from the Commission’s Bardibas office took Pal into custody while he was in the process of receiving money from the service recipient.

According to the preliminary investigation, Pal had allegedly demanded a bribe from the service recipient by assuring that he would facilitate the tax audit and related procedures of a company based in Lahan. He was arrested by the CIAA team while accepting the money.

Information Officer Pokharel stated that the exact amount of money recovered, collection of evidence related to the incident, and other necessary legal procedures are currently underway. The Commission has stated that further investigation into the case is ongoing.
