On Friday, two hundred girl students studying in grades 9 and 10 at Nepal National Secondary School, located in Sakhuwan Prasauni Rural Municipality–5, were provided with school bags.
During a program held on the school premises, the Chairperson of the Rural Municipality, Yaswant Yadav, handed over the bags to the students. He stated that the municipality launched this initiative to encourage students and foster a positive atmosphere in the education sector.
“Programs like school bag distribution help increase students’ engagement in learning and enhance their competitive abilities,” Chairperson Yadav said. “Such support also boosts their self-confidence.”
Sakhuwan Prasauni Rural Municipality has initiated the school bag distribution program targeting girl students studying in community schools within the municipality.
According to Chairperson Yadav, among the five secondary schools in the municipality, the program has been completed in one. Plans are in place to soon distribute school bags to grade 9 and 10 girl students at the remaining schools—Sirahi Sathwal, Panchgawa, Deurwana, and Kataiya Secondary Schools.
The municipality has expressed its commitment to continue such programs to enhance access and motivation for girls in education.
