The person found dead in the premises of a temple located in Sabaila Municipality–12 of Dhanusha has been confirmed to be a passerby and not the priest.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Madhesh Province Police Office, Om Prasad Adhikari, has clarified that the body found in the temple premises was not that of priest Banthu Raut Kaderi. After the deceased was previously identified as a priest and news and information were published on social media and in some media outlets, the police said that their attention had been drawn to the matter.

Province Police Chief Adhikari has urged that news be published only after understanding the facts, saying that disseminating information without officially confirming facts regarding sensitive incidents can create confusion.

The District Police Office, Dhanusha, also issued a statement confirming that the body found in the temple premises was not that of Kaderi, the priest, but of a passerby who had come from outside.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police of the District Police Office, Dhanusha, Madhusudan Neupane, the police have proceeded with further investigation to find out the reality of the incident. He said that a police team including trained dogs has been deployed at the incident site and investigation is underway.

According to the police, preliminary information has been received that the deceased person used to sleep in the temple premises after returning from outside work. The police have urged people not to view the incident by linking it to a religious matter and said that it could be a criminal incident, so the investigation has been taken forward accordingly.

The police have expressed their commitment to bring those involved in the incident within the legal framework once their identity and involvement are confirmed. The police have stated that further facts about the incident will be revealed through the investigation.
