The Central Disciplinary Committee of the Nepali Congress has warned three Provincial Assembly members from Madhesh Province to fulfill their responsibilities in accordance with the party constitution and discipline in the future.

A meeting of the committee held on Thursday directed Provincial Assembly members Sakunti Devi Mahara, Kaushal Kishor Rai, and Jangilal Rai, representing Sarlahi Constituency No. 2, to become more responsible towards the party. They had been accused of not providing the expected support to the party’s official candidate during the election.

After being asked to provide clarification regarding the allegations, all three denied the accusations and submitted their written responses to the committee. Although the committee found their explanations satisfactory, it stated that they had been cautioned and advised to remain committed to the party’s constitution, rules, and discipline so that such complaints would not be repeated in the future.

Meanwhile, Amirilal Raut, Vice President of the Bara District Working Committee, has been cleared of allegations related to violation of party discipline. After reviewing his clarification and related documents, the committee concluded that no further action was necessary and decided to grant him a clean chit.

At the same time, action has been taken against Bara District President Rajesh Rai Yadav on charges of working against the party’s official candidate. The disciplinary committee meeting held at the party’s central office in Sanepa decided to suspend him from the position of District President.

The meeting, chaired by committee coordinator Taraman Gurung, stated that the Nepali Congress had made necessary decisions to further strengthen party discipline and address activities observed during the elections.
