An elderly man was found dead at a public rest shelter (chautara) in Rani Ganj, located in ward no. 17 of Lalbandi Municipality, Sarlahi district.

The deceased has been identified as 65-year-old Dhan Bahadur Karki, a resident of Gachhiya Tole, Sundarharaicha Municipality–7, Morang.

According to Inspector Birendra Singh, the chief of the Area Police Office in Lalbandi, locals informed the police after spotting the body at the chautara. A police team reached the site and has already collected preliminary information regarding the incident.

The body has been sent to the Provincial Hospital in Malangwa, Sarlahi, for post-mortem examination. The cause of Karki’s death is yet to be determined. Police have stated that further investigation into the incident is underway.
