Two senior leaders of the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Nepal from Sarlahi—Ganesh Kumar Yadav and Mukesh Kumar Pandit—have jointly announced their resignation from the party. With this move, they have formally ended a political journey that spanned nearly two decades within the party.

Active in politics since the early days of the Madhesh movement, Yadav and Pandit were consistently engaged under the JSP banner. Yadav, a resident of Haripurwa Municipality, held the post of Senior Vice President of JSP Sarlahi, while Pandit, from Malangwa Municipality, served as Vice President. Both remained in leadership roles until the recent dissolution of the JSP Sarlahi District Committee.

In their joint resignation letter, they cited long-standing factionalism, internal disorder, and serious neglect by the local leadership as the key reasons for their departure. They expressed frustration that, despite repeatedly informing the central leadership about the growing internal divisions in Sarlahi, no meaningful response or action was taken.

“There is no longer a political future in this party,” the resignation letter reads. “We are ending our political journey with dignity and resigning from the party entirely, including as general members, effective immediately.”

Yadav and Pandit also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the party workers, supporters, and well-wishers who accompanied them throughout their political careers. They hinted at exploring new political alternatives in the near future.

Their departure is expected to further shake up the party’s organizational structure in Sarlahi, given the significant influence both leaders held.
