Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bikash Bam, currently serving at the Area Police Office, Bardibas, has been honored as the “Best Police Officer” for the month of Ashar 2082. The District Police Office, Mahottari, presented the award in recognition of his notable accomplishments in controlling drug trafficking, apprehending absconding defendants, curbing theft and human trafficking, and tackling illegal extraction of natural resources.
Under DSP Bam’s leadership, several significant operations were carried out throughout the month. Police confiscated 63.10 grams of brown heroin and 263.24 kilograms of marijuana, arresting individuals involved in drug smuggling and registering legal cases against them.
In addition, 18 fugitives were arrested during the same period. Goods worth NPR 4,767,605 suspected to be involved in customs evasion were also seized and necessary legal procedures have been initiated.
DSP Bam’s team also made notable progress in theft-related cases. A suspect involved in stealing a laptop and two mobile phones was arrested and a robbery case has been filed. Similarly, 17 bottles of the banned cough syrup “WinCirex” were recovered.
Efforts to curb illegal excavation of stones, gravel, and sand have also been intensified. His team seized a total of 10 vehicles—2 loaders, 4 tippers, and 4 tractors—used in such illegal activities, and action is being taken through the concerned authorities.
Likewise, a gang of four individuals involved in stealing and selling motorcycles has also been taken under custody for further investigation.
DSP Bam has also shown active involvement in combating serious social crimes. A human trafficking and transportation case has been registered against them.
