A new initiative has begun from Saturday to make the premises of Panchdhura Maithan Temple, enriched with religious faith and tourism potential, more organized and well-facilitated. A formal program was held to launch the installation of deep boring for drinking water at this sacred religious site located in Bardibas Municipality–4.

The inauguration of the project was jointly carried out by Bardibas Municipality Mayor Prahlad Kumar Kshetri and the Chairperson of the Municipal Tourism, Culture and Infrastructure Development Committee, Hiralal Gautam.

According to local belief, worship and rituals performed at Panchdhura Maithan Temple fulfill the wishes of devotees. For years, this site has been revered not only by locals but also by devotees from surrounding districts. Thousands of devotees flock here not only during fairs, festivals, and religious ceremonies but also on occasions such as weddings, bratabandha (sacred thread ceremony), and birthdays.

However, devotees have long faced inconvenience due to the lack of proper drinking water facilities at this religious center. Acknowledging this necessity, the municipality decided to construct a drinking water facility through deep boring from the municipal budget.

Speaking at the inauguration program, Mayor Prahlad Kumar Kshetri said:
“Panchdhura Maithan is our religious, cultural, and historical asset. This initiative has been taken to provide convenient drinking water facilities to the devotees coming here. Alongside this, we also have a long-term plan to develop the temple area as a tourist attraction.”

On the occasion, Committee Chairperson Hiralal Gautam shared details about development plans for the temple premises, stating:
“This temple area is not only a religious site but also a heritage filled with tourism potential. The deep boring will fulfill a basic necessity here, while in the coming days, other infrastructure development will make it even more organized.”

The news of drinking water facilities being constructed in the temple area has excited locals. According to them, easy access to water will benefit devotees and help promote tourism. A local devotee woman remarked:
“Panchdhura is the center of our faith. With drinking water available to visitors, their difficulties will be eased. The work initiated by the municipality is truly commendable.”

The installation of deep boring is expected not only to supply water but also to contribute to making the temple premises more organized. Alongside this, ongoing works such as park construction, lighting, sanitation, pond beautification, and other infrastructure improvements are believed by locals to turn Panchdhura Maithan Temple into a significant destination for religious tourism in the future.
