Police in Sarlahi arrested 45-year-old Rupesh Sah and his 35-year-old wife, Pratimakumari Sah, on Thursday afternoon in Haripurwa Municipality–5 for possession of illegal drugs, specifically marijuana.

According to the police, the couple had hidden 20 kilograms and 340 grams of marijuana in their home. Saroj Rai, spokesperson and DSP at the District Police Office, Sarlahi, stated that “Upon receiving information, a police team was immediately deployed. During the house search, marijuana wrapped in plastic was found on the roof.”

The raid on the couple’s house was conducted by a 26-member team led by Assistant Police Inspector Sheikh Hafzullah, Police Inspector Umakant Joshi, and Police Inspector Ravindra Karki.

The arrested couple and the seized marijuana have been taken to the District Police Office in Malangwa for necessary legal action.
