Background of the Incident
On the night of Jestha 22, a group of armed robbers broke into Chaudhary’s house in Surunga Municipality–8. During the robbery, the elderly Chaudhary was brutally murdered. According to family members, the robbers tied him up and threatened other members of the household before carrying out the assault.
Police Challenges and Breakthrough
Initial investigations yielded little progress, raising questions about the role and effectiveness of the police. However, in recent weeks, intensified efforts led to identifying and arresting those involved in the crime.
According to SP KC, “The criminals were apprehended through coordination, use of technology, and tip-offs from informants.”
Relief Among Locals, Justice Still Awaited
Although the suspects have now been made public, local residents are demanding the harshest possible punishment for those responsible for Chaudhary’s murder. “Until those committing such heinous crimes face strict punishment, peace and trust will not return to society,” said one local resident.
The Saptari police have stated that further details of the investigation will be disclosed in due course.
