Indra Prasad Dhungel (Sitaram) has been elected as the President of the Rotary Club of Bardibas. In a handover and oath-taking ceremony held on Sunday in Bardibas, outgoing President Bishnuraj Puri officially handed over the leadership for the Rotary year 2025–26 to Dhungel.

On the same occasion, newly elected officials and executive committee members also took the oath of office and secrecy. Additionally, Saroj Gajmer was elected as the President of the Rotaract Club of Bardibas, the youth wing of Rotary Club. Outgoing President Narayan Adhikari handed over the position to Gajmer.

Honorable Member of Parliament Sharada Devi Thapa, representing Mahottari-1(A) of Madhesh Province, was the chief guest of the ceremony. She praised Rotary as a global humanitarian organization that serves as a driving force for social change. “The core value of Rotary is service. It operates above and beyond personal interests,” she stated. She also expressed her commitment to continued collaboration with Rotary in future programs.

Speaking at the event, Mayor of Bardibas Municipality, Prahlad Kumar Kshetri, appreciated the Club’s contributions to municipal development. He mentioned that the municipality prioritizes organizations that move forward in cooperation with local authorities and extended his best wishes to the newly elected team. “It is expected that Rotary’s role in addressing the municipality’s fundamental needs will become even stronger,” he added.

Upon assuming office, newly elected President Indra Prasad Dhungel (Sitaram) expressed his commitment to focus on education, health, sanitation, and environmental conservation through socially engaged and creative initiatives. He stated that he would build on past experiences to strengthen the Club’s impact in the coming days.

Outgoing President Bishnuraj Puri presented a progress report of his tenure, highlighting the various activities carried out by the Club. On the same occasion, individuals and guests who contributed to the Club were honored and presented with tokens of appreciation.

The Rotary Club of Bardibas has long been dedicated to community service, conducting programs such as educational development, school upgrades, health camps, scholarships, sanitation drives, and tree plantation campaigns at the local level.
