Raj Kumar Gupta, Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration, has resigned from his position.

Gupta submitted his resignation to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today, stating that he stepped down to allow for an impartial investigation into the allegations raised against him.

“I resigned with the belief that it will help bring the truth to light,” he told journalists, adding, “I express my gratitude to everyone who has placed their trust in me.”

Gupta had come under fire in recent days after audio clips were circulated on social media and various news platforms, allegedly exposing him for accepting bribes worth hundreds of thousands of rupees.

Expressing his loyalty to the party’s responsibilities, Gupta assured that he would sincerely fulfill any role entrusted to him by the organization in the future.
