Sarlahi Police have arrested two individuals with the narcotic drug brown sugar. The arrested persons have been identified as 30-year-old Arun Lama, a resident of Bagmati Municipality–8, and 30-year-old Sanam Lama, a resident of Dhanushadham Municipality–7 in Dhanusha District.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Bed Prasad Gautam, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Sarlahi, a search operation was conducted on Tuesday at the house of Arun Lama in Bagmati Municipality–8 based on confidential information.
During the search, police recovered approximately 10 grams of a brown-colored substance suspected to be brown sugar, which had been hidden inside the house. Police also recovered Indian currency worth INR 900, Nepali cash amounting to NPR 23,770, and three mobile phones.
A joint police team deployed from the Temporary Police Post, Solti Bazaar, and the Area Police Office, Barahathawa, took both individuals into custody and has proceeded with further investigation.
According to police, a seven-day remand extension has been obtained from the District Court against both arrested individuals under charges related to narcotic drugs. Further investigation and legal proceedings are currently being carried out by the Area Police Office, Barahathawa.
