The 8th Lalbandi Municipality-Level Ward Chairman Cup Football Tournament, which was postponed due to the Janajati (Jenji) movement, is set to resume from tomorrow.

According to Ward Chairman Shiv Krishna Vaidya, all preparations have been completed for the tournament, which will be held at the playground in Pattharkot Chheda, Lalbandi-13. All 17 wards of Lalbandi Municipality will participate in the competition.

Originally, the municipality had planned to start the tournament on October 7 (Asoj 21). However, it was postponed after the municipal office was damaged during the protests, arson, and vandalism that took place on September 9 (Bhadra 24) amid the Jenji movement.

With the tournament finally resuming, football enthusiasts in the area are excited and optimistic. In the opening match, the organizing Ward No. 13 will compete against Ward No. 8.

Jointly organized by Lalbandi Municipality and Ward No. 13, the tournament will award NPR 111,111 to the champion, NPR 55,555 to the runner-up, and NPR 33,333 to the team finishing in third place.

According to local residents, the resumption of the football tournament is being viewed as an opportunity to revive social harmony and unity within the Lalbandi community.
