The body of a young man was found on Saturday morning in Machha Bazaar, Gaushala Municipality–5, Mahottari. Locals informed the police after discovering the body.

According to Ramesh Lama, Inspector at the Area Police Office, Gaushala, the deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Ramananda Baitha, a resident of Mirchiya, Haripurwa Municipality–9, Sarlahi. Police officers who reached the scene conducted an investigation and sent the body to the Provincial Hospital, Jaleshwar, for postmortem examination.

Locals said Baitha had been working in various hotels in Gaushala for the past three to four years to earn a living. Recently, he had been suffering from health issues and was reportedly ill with a fever.

Police have suspected that excessive alcohol consumption might have caused his death. However, the exact cause will be confirmed only after the postmortem report is received.

Meanwhile, the Area Police Office, Gaushala, has continued further investigation into the incident.
