A jeep accident occurred on Friday afternoon in Bijuledanda, Katari Municipality–4 of Udayapur district, injuring 15 people. The Bolero jeep, registered as Ba 7 Cha 3695, was traveling from Katari towards Lekhani when it lost control and overturned on the left side of the road.
Among the injured are 67-year-old Kshetrabahadur Magar, 45-year-old Arjun Tamang, 25-year-old Ram Maya Tamang, 33-year-old Mina Kumari Tamang, and 30-year-old Durga Dulal. Similarly, 52-year-old Dil Bahadur Tamang, 59-year-old Amrit Bahadur Tamang, and 62-year-old Ratna Lal Tamang are also on the list of the injured.
Some of the victims are reported to be in critical condition. All the injured have been taken to the Provincial Hospital in Katari for treatment, and those in serious condition are being prepared for referral to a major hospital, according to police reports.
The jeep driver, 30-year-old Sagar Rai, has been taken into police custody, and further investigation is underway. Based on preliminary investigations, police are trying to gather detailed information regarding the cause of the accident.
A team of doctors has been deployed at the hospital to monitor the condition of the injured. The incident has created an atmosphere of concern and tension among the local residents.
