The police have arrested a long-time fugitive accused in a murder case, thereby upholding the rule of law. According to the District Police Office, Sindhuli, 68-year-old Bhim Bahadur Ale Magar, a resident of former Tinkanya Rural Municipality Ward No. 3, now Golnjor Rural Municipality Ward No. 4, has been taken into custody based on a special tip-off.

The police stated that Ale, who was under special surveillance, was found hiding in a field near his home around 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday and was arrested. At 5:05 p.m., he was taken into police custody and held at the Khurkot Police Station for further legal action.

The Sindhuli District Court had on 12 Magh 2079 (Nepali calendar) found Ale guilty in a murder case and sentenced him to one month and eight days in prison. However, he attempted to flee before the verdict could be executed. After continuous investigation and surveillance, the police successfully apprehended him.

Superintendent of Police and spokesperson for the District Police Office, Sindhuli, Surya Prakash Subedi, said, “He was arrested while evading the court’s order. He will now be presented before the court, and the sentence will be enforced.”
