Under the fifth convention of Nepal Tarun Dal, the ward convention of Bardibas Municipality–12 held on Monday has infused new enthusiasm into the local political atmosphere. This youth organization, affiliated with the Nepali Congress, has not only carried out leadership selection but also strengthened organizational awareness and hope for the future.
Inaugurating the program, Prahlad Kumar Kshetri, a member of the Mahasamiti of Nepali Congress Mahottari Constituency No. 1 and Mayor of Bardibas Municipality, emphasized that the organization cannot be strong without empowered youth. He said,
“The strong foundation of any organization is its youth, and only a strong organization can lead the country on the path of development.”
His remarks boosted the confidence of the attending youth and further deepened their political activism, according to participants.
The convention saw the notable presence of General Convention representative Ashok Koirala, Provincial President of Congress Mahottari Constituency No. 1 (9k0) Ganga Raut, Municipal President Yubaraj Pokharel, Tarun Dal District President Vinay Kumar Yadav, Central Committee Member Min Bahadur Koirala, among others. In the guidance of senior leaders and the enthusiasm of young cadres, the convention sent a message of strengthening the organization and moving toward the future.
Young activists expressed views on organizational expansion, local politics, and the decisive role of youth in strengthening the Congress party. According to them, youth activism is indispensable not only within the party but also in nation- and society-building.
Participants described the ward-level convention as a practice of leadership production. In their view, such conventions create opportunities for youth to gradually rise from municipal and district levels to central leadership.
Concluded with the theme of “New Energy, New Leadership, and New Campaign”, the convention elected an 11-member new executive committee under the chairmanship of Rakesh Singh.

Similarly, the convention selected eight representatives for the municipal convention, including Alka Kumari Singh, Kaushila Devi Mahara, and Bijay Thapa Magar. For the district convention, Ram Janam Mahato, Bhesh Bahadur Thapa, and Phoolmati Mahato were chosen.
According to Nepali Congress Municipal President of Bardibas, Yubaraj Pokharel, this convention will further strengthen the organization and help make Congress more accountable and effective toward the people in the coming days.
The convention of Bardibas–12 has not only been a political program but also a school of political awareness for the younger generation. It has sent a message of encouraging youth to take proactive steps in their future political journey.
By energizing local politics and organizational practices, the enthusiasm, leadership, and determination demonstrated by this convention are expected to have a positive impact not only within the Congress party but also in society at large.
