An adult deer was found injured on Friday night near the eastern side of the Bhavsi River, located within the jurisdiction of the Gananta Sub-Division Forest Office in Bardibas Municipality-4, Mahottari district.
According to the forest office, the area on both sides of this section of the East–West Mahendra Highway is covered with dense forest, and it is suspected that the deer may have wandered onto the road from the forest. The deer is believed to have been injured after being struck by a vehicle. A team from the Gananta Sub-Division Forest Office immediately rescued it.
Forest Officer Umesh Mandal stated that, following the rescue, the Bardibas Municipality’s Animal Service Section was informed without delay. Based on this information, a team led by Section Chief Bimal Kant Yadav treated the deer on Saturday morning.
According to the attending veterinarians, the deer sustained injuries to its back, face, legs, and other parts of the body. Its health condition is currently improving, and once it fully recovers, it will be released back into the forest, the forest office confirmed.
