A case has been filed in the Special Court in Kathmandu against Ram Pukar Sah, the Mayor of Kalyanpur Municipality in Siraha, on charges of accepting a bribe.

According to Rajendra Kumar Paudel, spokesperson of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), after the completion of a drain construction project in Kalyanpur-6, Sah was caught accepting a bribe of NPR 100,000 through a middleman during the payment process.

The commission stated that the entire amount of the bribe was recovered at the time of arrest. Under Section 3(9)(10) of the Corruption Control Act, 2059 (2002), the CIAA filed a charge sheet on Friday demanding a fine equivalent to the bribe amount of NPR 100,000 and the corresponding punishment for Sah.
