Fourteen different organizations have expressed their support for the protest launched by the Nepal Valuers Association (NVA) against Nepal Investment Mega Bank (NIMB).

The Valuers Association has initiated a phased protest, accusing the bank of harassing property valuation engineers under various pretexts. Organizations such as the Nepal Engineers Association, Society of Consulting Architect and Engineering Firms, Society of Nepalese Architects, and Society of Mechanical Engineers Nepal, among others, have extended their solidarity to the movement.

According to NVA Secretary Engineer Rabindra Adhikari, many valuers have suffered due to the conduct of NIMB, which is why the association has focused its campaign against the bank. He said letters have been submitted to the Nepal Bankers Association and Nepal Rastra Bank, urging the central bank to implement the draft provisions it has introduced.

Adhikari also mentioned that a survey coordinated by NVA Vice President Pragyan Ghimire concluded that Nepal Investment Mega Bank has caused the most trouble to property valuers.

Today, Friday, the 23rd of Shrawan, the Valuers Association is set to stage sit-in protests at the provincial offices and branch locations of Nepal Investment Mega Bank.
