Pilgrims Returning from Halesi Pilgrimage Injured in Microbus Accident, One in Critical Condition

A microbus carrying pilgrims returning from the Halesi Mahadev pilgrimage has met with an accident. The incident occurred on Monday morning near Daunte Khola in Halesi Tuwachung Municipality–1, Khotang.

According to the District Police Office, Khotang, the microbus (Province 2–01001 Ja 0053), which had set off from Naraha Municipality–5 in Siraha after completing a religious trip to Halesi, went out of control and overturned on the roadside.

At the time of the accident, there were 16 people on board, including the driver. According to Police Inspector and Information Officer Sushant Mishra, one passenger was critically injured after being trapped under the vehicle, while 13 others sustained various injuries. The critically injured passenger was rescued and rushed by ambulance to Ghurmi Primary Health Center in neighboring Udayapur.

The rescue operation was carried out with the joint effort of locals and security personnel. Police have stated that an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.

The identities and detailed condition of the injured passengers are yet to be made public.
