Shrimad Bhagwat Saptah Gyan Mahayagya Begins at Khayarmara, Bardibas–11

A public musical Shrimad Bhagwat Saptah Gyan Mahayagya has commenced from Saturday at the premises of Shridukeshwar Mahadev Temple located in Bardibas Municipality–11, Khayarmara. The weeklong event has been organized for the renovation of the temple as well as to promote religious, cultural, and social harmony. The Mahayagya was formally inaugurated by Mayor Prahlad Kumar Kshetri amid a special ceremony.

While inaugurating the event, Mayor Kshetri stated that religious programs not only spread positive energy in the community but also play a vital role in strengthening social unity and harmony. “Through scriptural wisdom and religious stories, today’s generation can understand life values and cultural ethics,” he said, adding, “Such events contribute significantly to the preservation and promotion of our culture.” He further mentioned that since his re-election for the second term, municipal services are accessible without any political mediation. Citizens can directly approach him anytime to discuss issues and receive services, he assured.

According to the organizing committee, the musical recitation of the Shrimad Bhagwat will be delivered by Pandit Arjun Dahal, and the event will continue until the 23rd of Shrawan.

Usha Devkota, Chairperson of the Shridukeshwar Temple Committee, stated that the Mahayagya is not just for temple renovation, but also aimed at spreading religious awareness and attracting local youth towards culture. She informed that the active support of local residents has played a crucial role in organizing the event successfully.

On the first day of the Mahayagya, a notable presence of local community members, religious leaders, social workers, and elected representatives was observed. Daily activities such as Hari Sankirtan, Aarti, and Prasad distribution have been arranged alongside the storytelling.

The weeklong event is being regarded as an important initiative for promoting peace, harmony, religion, and devotion.
