The identity of a young woman whose body was found in Bharat Lake, located in Bagmati Municipality–12 of Sarlahi district, has been confirmed. According to the Sarlahi District Police Office, the deceased has been identified as 20-year-old Vikukumari Sahani from Baralgoth, Balara Municipality–4.

The body was discovered under suspicious circumstances on Wednesday afternoon. Locals spotted the body near the edge of the lake and immediately informed the police.

Following the identification, police have expanded the scope of their investigation to determine the cause of death. Preliminary findings have led to further evidence collection and procedural steps, according to police sources.

Police have stated that the investigation is ongoing from multiple angles, and the facts behind Sahani’s death will be made public soon.
