Rajesh Jha ‘Ahiraj’, the former Chief of Madhesh Province, has been sent to custody for further proceedings in a rape case. The order was issued today by Judge Pitambar Sharma of the District Court, Kathmandu, where the case has been registered.

Jha was arrested on July 19 (Shrawan 4) following a complaint filed by a woman accusing him of rape. The Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu, initiated an investigation, and based on the collected evidence, the District Government Attorney’s Office filed a charge sheet in court.

However, the case has taken a new turn. Former Chief Jha has filed a counter-complaint against the woman who claimed to be the victim. He alleges that he was deliberately framed in a conspiracy and has accused the woman of filing a false complaint with malicious intent.

This case has attracted widespread attention from both political and legal circles. The court will now proceed with hearings based on the claims and counterclaims from both parties.
