An elderly woman lost her life in an incident that occurred on Saturday in Agnisair Krishnasavaran Rural Municipality of Saptari district.

According to the District Police Office, Saptari, 70-year-old Urmila Devi Yadav of Tengri settlement in Ward No. 4 died after being electrocuted while working on her farmland.

Police said Yadav was severely injured after she accidentally came in contact with electricity from a water pump motor installed in her own field. She passed away on the way to the hospital in Rajbiraj, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Jitendra Kumar Basnet.
