Madhesh Province Minister for Forests and Environment, Sanjay Kumar Yadav, has made it clear that efforts to conserve forests will not be meaningful without cooperation and unity among political parties.

While inspecting a nursery operated by the Division Forest Office in Jaleshwar, Mahottari on Tuesday, Minister Yadav stated, “Unless there is a unified political stance, the implementation of forest conservation policies cannot succeed. Without a shared goal, even with infrastructure and resources, results will not be achieved.”

He highlighted the growing impacts of climate change and expressed his view that afforestation is the key solution to the environmental crisis. “The scarcity of water is worsening day by day. The long-term solution lies in expanding greenery,” Minister Yadav said.

He also pointed out that due to indiscriminate tree-cutting in the past, it is now crucial to prioritize plantation drives. “Our old and valuable trees were cut down, but sufficient replanting was not done to compensate for the loss. We must act immediately and engage in plantation campaigns,” he added.

The program was attended by Jagannath Prasad Jaiswal, Director of the Madhesh Province Forest Directorate; Forest Officer Sujit Kumar Jha; Ajay Kumar Mishra, Head of the Division Forest Office, Mahottari; and other staff members. They briefed the minister on the current state of the nursery.

Minister Yadav emphasized that a triangular coordination among political willpower, administrative activism, and public support is essential for forest conservation and greenery promotion.
