A newly constructed two-storey administrative building of Ward No. 7 of Bardibas Municipality has been officially inaugurated. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony held on Wednesday, Mayor Prahlad Kumar Kshetri said that he is actively working with full responsibility for the overall development of Bardibas Municipality.

Mayor Kshetri shared that the construction of the ward office building was completed through mutual agreement and collaboration among the ward’s representatives, political parties, local land donors, and other stakeholders. Referring to the ongoing efforts to declare Madhesh Province a drought-affected zone, he mentioned that Bardibas–7 is also among the affected areas and that the municipality has prioritized addressing the drinking water crisis.

“Deep boring projects have been carried out in several parts of the ward, and we will ensure drinking water availability by installing more borings in the remaining areas,” said Mayor Kshetri. “We are committed to addressing such problems with seriousness.”

Ram Mani Adhikari, the Chief Administrative Officer of Bardibas Municipality, expressed that having a dedicated administrative building for the ward is a matter of pride. “The slogan ‘Singha Durbar in every household’ after federalism can only be realized if ward offices function effectively,” he said. “Having a permanent office allows the ward to provide quality public service.”

According to Officer Adhikari, the construction of ward office buildings has been a top priority of the municipality. He emphasized that good infrastructure is essential for citizens to receive services as expected from ward offices.

The building was constructed under the coordination of Ward No. 7 Chairperson Ram Swargarth Yadav (Bhoril). As per his statement, construction began on Asar 26, 2081 BS and was completed by Asar 23, 2082 BS. The two-storey building, built at a cost of NPR 3.7 million, includes four rooms on the ground floor and a meeting hall with two additional rooms on the upper floor.

Local residents have expressed hope that the new building will facilitate better service delivery. The inauguration ceremony saw notable participation from ward representatives, leaders of political parties, civil society members, women’s groups, youth, and elderly citizens. Those who contributed to the building’s construction—including elected officials, employees, construction committee members, and technicians—were honored during the event
