The BP Highway, which was blocked due to heavy rainfall on Monday night, has now been reopened. Continuous rain had caused landslides and mudslides, leading to road obstructions at various points along the highway.
According to Sunil Dhunju, Chief Traffic Inspector at the District Traffic Police Office, Kavre, vehicular movement had come to a halt due to mud accumulation at several locations including Mamti in Roshi Rural Municipality–11, Pinthali in Ward No. 9, and the Biruwadanda section.
Inspector Dhunju informed that, through joint efforts of the traffic police, Nepal Police, and the Road Division Office, the blocked mud was cleared and two-way vehicular movement was restored by 8:35 AM on Tuesday.
Although the highway is now operational, traffic police have urged passengers and drivers to check road conditions before traveling, as the surface remains slippery and potentially hazardous.
