Ward Chairperson Ghuran Mahato of Bardibas Municipality–9 in Mahottari has been arrested in connection with a banking offense case.

According to police, Mahato had been listed as an absconding defendant for the past month following an order issued by the Mahottari District Court. Based on that order, police took him into custody from his own residence in Bardibas Municipality–9 on Thursday.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Panchalal Gole informed that the arrested Mahato has been kept in custody at the Area Police Office, Bardibas, and stated that further investigation into the banking offense case is underway.

Police have stated that the necessary legal procedures related to the case have been initiated.
