Ward Chairperson of Baragadhi Rural Municipality–6, Niraj Sah Teli, passed away on Thursday night. The 46-year-old had been suffering from cancer for a long time and breathed his last while undergoing treatment at National Medical College, Birgunj.

According to his uncle, Rajkumar Sah, who is also the President of the Bara Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Teli’s health had been deteriorating for the past few months. Despite continuous medical treatment, doctors were unable to save him in the end.

Teli was a well-known figure in local politics. He was first elected as Ward Chairperson during the initial term of the local government from the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP), and was re-elected for a second term representing the Nepali Congress.

He was also actively involved in social work, playing a significant role in promoting health and infrastructure development programs at the local level.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters, and a son.

Local residents have expressed deep sorrow over his demise, remembering him as a dedicated and service-oriented public representative.
