A two-year-old boy has died after drowning in a pond in Ghardhauli Tole of Kabilasi Municipality–5, Sarlahi.

Suraj Paswan, the son of local resident Devnarayan Paswan, had gone missing while playing in the courtyard of his house. During the search, he was found unconscious in a nearby pond belonging to neighbor Bindeshwar Ray.

According to Police Inspector Romanraj Aryal of the Area Police Office, Haripur, the child was rescued and rushed to the hospital, but doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

Following the incident, Suraj’s body was sent to the Provincial Hospital in Malangwa for a postmortem examination. After the autopsy, police handed over the body to the family for final rites.
