A newly constructed four-room building of Sem Nepal National Secondary School, located in Bardibas Municipality–5, was officially inaugurated on Sunday amid a formal ceremony. During the event, Mayor Prahlad Kumar Kshetri stated that a significant portion of the municipality’s budget is being invested in the education and health sectors.

Addressing the gathering, Mayor Kshetri emphasized that education and health are regarded as the backbone of municipal development. “We consider education and health as the backbone of municipal development,” he said, “and a major share of the municipality’s budget is focused on these two sectors. We believe this will ensure a brighter future for the next generation.”

He further mentioned that the municipality is committed to strengthening the basic infrastructure of schools and informed that the fencing problem of Sem Nepal School will also be addressed within this fiscal year’s budget. “Although we view all schools in the municipality equally, it is not possible to resolve all problems at once,” he said. “However, we will gradually address every issue based on priority and need.”

Om Dhoj Basnet, Chairperson of the newly constructed school building committee, shared details about the project, stating that the success of the construction was made possible through the municipality’s investment, local support, and the active involvement of the school community. According to him, the four-room building was initiated in the fiscal year 2079/80 (2022/23) and completed on Chaitra 20, 2080 BS (early April 2024). The total construction cost amounted to NPR 4,252,334.45.

Local parents, teachers, and students expressed their belief that the new building will help create a more conducive learning environment and extended their gratitude to the municipality. The school community also offered special thanks to Mayor Kshetri for his continued dedication to the education sector.

The program was marked by the significant presence of local representatives, teachers, students, and guardians.
