Bardibas, Mahottari –
A new chapter in surgical care has begun at Bardibas Hospital, the only government-run municipal hospital in Bardibas, Mahottari, following the successful operation of a newly installed anesthesia machine.
Thanks to the efforts of Bardibas Municipality, the modern anesthesia machine has been installed, tested, and brought into regular use for the past week. With this advancement, the hospital is now capable of performing both general and emergency surgeries.
Mayor of Bardibas Municipality, Mr. Prahlad Kumar Kshetri, stated, “Our goal has always been to ensure accessible and quality healthcare services for our residents.” He added that with the introduction of the anesthesia machine, procedures such as childbirth-related surgeries, emergency surgeries, and other operations can now be carried out more effectively.
Previously, due to the lack of anesthesia facilities, the hospital could only conduct operations below the waist. As a result, critically ill patients often had to be referred to Janakpur or even Kathmandu. However, with this new technological upgrade, it is expected that both the financial and emotional burden on local residents will be significantly reduced.
Dr. Ritesh Ghimire, a physician at Bardibas Hospital, remarked, “Now, we can not only handle routine operations but also respond promptly in emergencies. This is a major achievement for the hospital.”
Local residents have also expressed their happiness with this development. Ram Bhandari from Bardibas-5 shared, “Now we don’t have to travel far for surgeries. It’s a matter of pride to have such facilities in our own town.”
Bardibas Municipality has been prioritizing the expansion of hospital infrastructure, equipment, and human resources. With the operation of the anesthesia machine, the launch of surgical services is expected to bring quality healthcare to the doorsteps of the local population.
